In August, Samsung unveiled the S49A950UIU, a 5K and 120 Hz ultra-wide monitor aimed at businesses and professionals. At the time, the company confirmed that the monitor would be available for €1,250. It did not reveal when the S49A950UIU would launch, though.
Fast forward two months, and Samsung has re-released the S49A950UIU as the Business-Monitor S9U. While the company's S49A950UIU listing remains live on its German website, it only refers to it as the Business-Monitor S9U in its latest press release. The name change coincides with a price increase too; the Business-Monitor S9U will retail for €1,399 when it arrives next month.
All features and specifications remain identical from the S49A950UIU's announcement this summer. Hence, the Business-Monitor S9U has a 49-inch VA panel with a 1800R curvature and a QLED backlight. The 109 PPI panel supports 10-bit colour depth, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and peaks at 350 cd/m². The monitor has 4 ms GtG response times as well, along with DisplayHDR 400 certification, a KVM switch and two built-in speakers.
Samsung has included numerous ports too, such as dual HDMI connections, dual USB Type-C ports and an RJ45 jack, among others. Supposedly, the monitor covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Unfortunately, Samsung has not announced plans to sell the Business-Monitor S9U outside of Germany.
