New Samsung Smart Monitor M5 monitors launching next month from US$279.99
Samsung has confirmed full details about the M50C, a new edition in its Smart Monitor M5 series. Launching alongside the M70C and M80C, the M50C will also be available in two sizes, 27 and 32-inches. According to Samsung, while the M50C shares a few features with the M70C and M80C, it only outputs at 1080p in a 16:9 aspect ratio, regardless of the size chosen.
Additionally, the M50C peaks at 250 cd/㎡ with HDR10 support, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 4 ms GtG response times and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the monitor utilises Samsung's usual set of smart features, including Gaming Hub, Workspace and Google Meet. However, it lacks a built-in SmartThings Hub, a dedicated voice assistant and a webcam. Also, the M50C does not have a USB Type-C port like the M80C.
Still, the M50C has two HDMI 1.4 ports, two USB Type-A ports, stereo 5 W speakers and a bundled remote control. Furthermore, although the M50C has 100 x 100 mm VESA wall mounts, it lacks the adjustable stand of the M70C or M80C. The M50C series will be available next month in black and white colour options. So far, Samsung has only confirmed US pricing, with the 27-inch model and 32-inch model retailing for US$279.99 and US$299.99, respectively.
