Samsung has provided more details about its next-generation Smart Monitor M8 series. To recap, the company introduced the new series in January at CES 2023, where it confirmed that it would offer 27-inch and 32-inch display sizes; previously, the Smart Monitor M8 series consisted of a sole 32-inch option. While this year's Smart Monitor M8 monitors are not orderable just yet, Samsung has outlined pricing, availability and full specifications.
According to the company's press release, both sizes pack identical features and fall under the same model number, M80C. However, the 32-inch will offer a lower pixel density on account of stretching a 3,840 x 2,160-pixel native resolution across a larger canvas. Additionally, the M80C has a 16:9 aspect ratio, offers 400 cd/㎡ peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms response times (GtG). Also, both panels support HDR10+, deliver 3,000:1 contrast ratios and have flat finishes.
Moreover, Samsung has integrated various smart features, including streaming services, its Gaming Hub, a SmartThings Hub and Multi View. Elsewhere, the M80C has 100 x 100 mm VESA wall mounts, twin 5 W stereo speakers, a Slim Fit Camera, a single HDMI 2.0 ports, two USB Type-A ports and a USB Type-C connection that supports 65 W charging. Like the M50C and M70C, the M80C series will be available next month. Currently, Samsung states that the 27-inch edition will retail for US$649.99, US$50 less than the 32-inch model. Both monitors will be available in Daylight Blue, Spring Green, Sunset Pink and Warm White colour options too.
