Vivo X100 proves true Xiaomi 14 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 challenger with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 in new AnTuTu leak

AnTuTu has published the first somewhat official benchmark result for the Dimensity 9300, MediaTek's next flagship chipset. Posted as a sneak peek on the Chinese social network Weibo mated to a Vivo X100, the Dimensity 9300 will make its official debut on November 6. By contrast, the Vivo X100 is likely to arrive a few weeks after, possibly around November 17.

Unsurprisingly, the Dimensity 9300 will rival the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which Qualcomm introduced last week. Based on the screenshot below, the Dimensity 9300 could challenge the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in many areas, particularly when it comes to CPU performance. For example, MediaTek has packed the Dimensity 9300 with a single ARM Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.25 GHz, another three Cortex-X4 CPU cores at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 performance cores restricted to 2.0 GHz.

In other words, MediaTek is using Cortex-A720 cores as efficiency cores, unlike Qualcomm. Regardless, the resulting CPU score of 518,632 points surpasses Qualcomm's reference result by 9.2%. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 9300's ARM Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU falls short of Qualcomm's reference unit but stays 15.4% ahead of the Xiaomi 14.

Moreover, Vivo equips the X100 with 16 GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage, which combines to deliver an 11.5% advantage over Xiaomi's latest compact 14 in AnTuTu's memory benchmark. Similarly, the Vivo X100 maintains a lead over the Xiaomi 14 in the UX benchmark. Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether the Vivo X100 and Dimensity 9300 can outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered competition, particularly outside the synthetic world of benchmarking tools.
