Doogee Smini launches as an extremely compact, robust smartphone with secondary display and 3D face detection
The Doogee Smini is downright tiny at 133 x 60 x 13.5 millimeters and a weight of 155 g, although not particularly thin. The device is 1.5 millimeters longer, but 4 millimeters narrower than the Apple iPhone 13 Mini. The thick casing is IP68 and IP69K certified and thus protected against dust, water and drops.
The front features an IPS panel with a diagonal of 4.5 inches and a resolution of 1,170 x 480, corresponding to a pixel density of 281 PPI. According to the manufacturer, the 8-megapixel front-facing camera supports 3D facial recognition for securely unlocking the device, while a fingerprint sensor is located on the right side. On the back sits a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP sensor and a small secondary display that shows the time, battery level, temperature and humidity.
This segment display has a retro look, but it also saves energy. Doogee installs a MediaTek Helio G99 that is flanked by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory, which can be expanded via a microSD memory card. The 3,000 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C at up to 18 watts. An NFC chip, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and Android 13 round out the features.
Price and availability
