Back in January, Valve revealed that Lenovo was its only partner for a Powered by SteamOS device. That info was disappointing as many thought several brands would jump on the SteamOS train and announce their own device. Four months later, it seems things have changed as Valve has revealed it has more partners now.
According to Valve, they are ''currently working with select partners on officially licensed Powered by SteamOS devices''. The info was revealed in an updated SteamOS FAQ. Valve also added that OEMs can reach out to them for more details about licensing SteamOS for their device.
Valve didn't specify which OEMs it is partnering with nor has there been any report about a new Powered by SteamOS device in development. While some may assume that these Powered by SteamOS devices may be handhelds, there's also the possibility they all aren't gaming handhelds considering Valve's plan is not to limit SteamOS to handhelds.
Nevertheless, it is good to know there are new Powered by SteamOS devices on the way. The big question is ''when will they arrive?''. The Legion Go S Powered by Steam OS is supposed to be available starting on May 25, more than four months after it was first announced. Let's hope there won't be such a long wait between announcement and release of these new devices.
