Tecno Spark Slim unveiled as the world's thinnest smartphone with a 5,200mAh battery
Tecno is set to showcase its latest concept smartphone, the Spark Slim, at MWC 2025. At just 5.75mm thick, the device is being positioned as the thinnest smartphone to feature a 5,200mAh battery. It will be available for a hands-on experience at the company booth in Barcelona next week.
The Spark Slim features a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 1224p (1.5K) and a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen’s peak brightness reaches 4500 nits, which should help with visibility in bright outdoor conditions. Tecno has used recycled aluminum and stainless steel in the phone’s construction, with an integrated die-casting process for structural integrity's sake while keeping the device lightweight.
Despite its ultra-thin design, the phone houses a 5,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Tecno claims this allows for all-day usage without sacrificing portability. An octa-core processor is also expected to power the device, though specific details about the chipset are undisclosed as of now. For photography, the Spark Slim includes a dual 50MP rear camera system and a 13MP front camera.
While Tecno is marketing the Spark Slim as a balance of form and function, it's more of a showcase of how far manufacturers can push ultra-thin designs without entirely sacrificing battery life and usability.
