Xiaomi's Mi TV Stick is generally regarded as the best option for those seeking a capable, affordable TV stick. Realme is set to disrupt the market, however, with the Realme 4K Google TV Stick, thanks to Google TV support and 4K playback capability.

Realme looks bent on competing with rivals Xiaomi across all segments. Since its inception a few years ago, the company has provided alternatives to most of Xiaomi's mobile tech products and looks set to continue with the imminent release of the Realme 4K Google TV Stick in India.

New information indicates that Realme is set to release a TV stick, the Realme 4K Google TV Stick. That's an elaborate name, but one that's intentional as it's meant to remind buyers of Google TV support and 4K playback. The latter is particularly important, as the Realme TV Stick's closest rival, Xiaomi's Mi TV Stick, is limited to 1080p.

Buyers who wanted an affordable 4K TV stick were pushed towards the Mi TV Box S instead—until now. The Realme 4K Google TV Stick promises 4K playback at an affordable price point. We expect Xiaomi to reply in kind soon, as competition between the two companies ramps up. The Realme TV Stick is tipped to launch during Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale. As for pricing, the Mi TV Stick costs Rs 2,999, and Realme's alternative is unlikely to be a lot more expensive.
