Xiaomi chose the POCO F3 as one of the first devices for MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, a refined version of MIUI 12.5. However, the rollout has been anything but smooth for some handsets, as we reported last week. In short, there were reports that upgrading to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition caused frequent reboots for the POCO F3, apparently caused by a process called 'framework'.
POCO has now acknowledged the issue, a screenshot of which we have embedded below. While the company has not explained what is causing the random reboots, it has pulled V12.5.3.0.RKHMIXM from distribution. The recovery and OTA files remain accessible from Xiaomi's servers though, for reference.
The same bug report states that a 'repaired version' V12.5.3.0.RKHMIXM will be available from September 15. It is unclear if the fixed build will retain the build number V12.5.3.0.RKHMIXM, although we imagine that Xiaomi will advance it to at least V12.5.3.1.RKHMIXM. Please note that Xiaomi has only updated the POCO F3 to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition on MIUI's global branch. All other branches, such as Russia and EEA, remain on MIUI 12.5.
