Probable Xiaomi Redmi K70 Pro surfaces with Android 14, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 16 GB of RAM

Early evidence of what appears to be the Redmi K70 Pro has turned up on Geekbench. Benchmarked as Xiaomi 23117RK66C, the device features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16 GB of RAM and is being actively developed running Android 14.

Xiaomi is preparing to unleash several smartphones in the next few days, some globally and some just for its home market. As we have discussed separately, the company will dedicate tomorrow to the Redmi Note 13 series, which is currently expected to arrive as the Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. Although these devices are likely to be Chinese exclusives until early 2024, Xiaomi will also launch the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro next week globally, as well as the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro.

Additionally, MySmartPrice has discovered Geekbench listings for 23117RK66C, an unreleased Xiaomi smartphone that it intends to offer in China too. As usual, Geekbench has revealed the marketing name associated with the 23117RK66C. However, the 1+2+5 CPU core configuration matches earlier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-related leaks.

Similarly, the pair of OpenCL results that have been posted so far mention the Adreno 750 GPU, emphasising that Xiaomi is developing 23117RK66C with Qualcomm's next flagship smartphone chipset. As the screenshots below show, Xiaomi pairs the unnamed chipset with 16 GB of RAM, an amount that will be available on the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus as well. Currently, Qualcomm is rumoured to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in October, a month earlier than usual.

Based on previous Xiaomi releases, it would seem that 23117RK66C is either a Xiaomi 14 or Redmi K70 series handset. Given that model numbers for the former are said to be 23127PN0CC and 23116PN5BC, 23117RK66C could belong to the Redmi K70 series instead. Typically, Xiaomi equips entry-level Redmi K models with last-generation chipsets, such as the Redmi K60, Redmi K50 and Redmi K40. Thus, GSMArena and MySmartPrice speculate that 23117RK66C will eventually launch as the Redmi K70 Pro.
