Summer Game Fest 2025 has unveiled its first wave of partners, with more than 60 companies signed on to participate in next month’s Los Angeles showcase. And notably, Nintendo is back after a two-year absence. Plus, PlayStation and Xbox have returned as mainstays, and this year’s lineup even features the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside major publishers and developers.
Nintendo’s inclusion breaks from its decision to skip both the 2023 and 2024 events in favor of standalone Direct presentations. While being listed as a partner doesn’t guarantee a full Nintendo Direct during the Summer Game Fest period, fans can at least expect some form of Switch 2 content - like a trailer oe announcement of the release.
This year’s Live Kickoff show is scheduled for two hours at the YouTube Theater in Hollywood on Friday, June 6 at 5 pm ET. It has promised “spectacular new video game announcements, surprises, and reveals” in the official announcement. Immediately afterwards, the invite-only Play Days media event runs June 7–9 in Downtown Los Angeles, produced by iam8bit, offering hands-on previews for press and influencers.
