The Philips Hue app version 5.38.0 has arrived for iOS and Android users. The update is the second in March, following the 5.37.1 release at the start of the month. This earlier release brought a new video recording tool and improved organization for users with multiple Hue Bridges (curr. $42 at Amazon).
Version 5.38 adds the QR code scanning feature, teased by Philips Hue earlier this year. This allows users to quickly set up and add several devices to a room. Plus, you can now view all of your connected products when you go to Settings > Devices. From this list, you can add a new device when you tap on the plus (+) icon.
There are further customization options for users with multiple Hue Bridges. Users can now rearrange the order of their Bridges on the Home tab when they go to Settings > Bridges and then drag them into their preferred order. It is worth noting that you need to enable the option for Bridge names to be used as headings to access this tool. Finally, All-day scenes are automatically grouped when you add them to your Bridge from the scene gallery.
You can download the Philips Hue app version 5.38.0 from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. In other news, the company has also recently released the Datura smart ceiling panel lights in the US.
