Dell Inspiron 13z makes an appearance in Australia

I am sure you all must be familiar with the Dell Inspiron Z-series of notebooks, specially with models like the Dell Inspiron 11z, Dell Inspiron 14z, and Dell Inspiron 15z. Now, Dell has added a new family member to its already existing line-up. Let me introduce you to the Dell Inspiron 13z notebook which has just been launched in Australia. 

The Inspiron 13z is full of powerful features like discreet graphics, an internal DVD drive, high capacity hard disk, optional 3G module, and a long 8-hour battery life. It has an inch thick body that weighs just 1.79 Kgs. Users can choose between the Obsidian Black color or a bright Cherry red color. Under the hood there is a choice between three processors - Intel Pentium dual-core SU4100, Intel Core2 Duo SU7300, and the Intel Core2 Duo SU9400 processor. Users can add up to 4GB of DDR3 (1067MHz) memory modules. Talking about the graphics performance, the users can either make do with the integrated Graphics media accelerator namely the X4500MHD or they can add in a 512MB Nvidia GeForce G105M discreet GPU. Other features of the Dell Inspiron 13z notebook are as follows:

  • Integrated DVD drive
  • 1.3MP webcam

  • 7-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, XD, MS, MS Pro, MMC+, Hi Density SD, Hi Capacity SD)
  • VGA out port
  • 3 USB 2.0 ports
  • Audio in/out jacks
  • Kensington lock

The Dell Inspiron 13z is available with a 4-cell Li-ion battery or an optional 8-cell Li-ion battery which is capable of offering up to 5 hours or up to 11 hours of battery life respectively. The 4-cell battery comes with the express charge feature that allows the battery to be charged to 80% of its full capacity in just 1-hour. The Inspiron 13z has been launched in Australia at a price of AD$1,199 or US$1,106. A formal launch in the US is still awaited.
