LG unveils the new X120 Netbook that’s not much different from the X110.

The Netbook market is expanding at a breathtaking pace. Already these cheaper versions are speculated to eat the market shares of both conventional Notebooks as well as Desktops. LG’s new line of Netbooks include the new X120 which is barely different from the earlier X110 on the hardware front. There’s the same 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Windows XP and a 10-inch WSVGA screen, along with 3G support just like the X110. But what’s new in this model is that the company has bundled a version of DeviceVM’s SplashTop interface which lets you boot quickly into a light weight, Linux-based desktop that lets you go online with a web browser, Skype, or perform a few other tasks without waiting for Windows XP to load. Not that we haven’t seen it before. Many Asus products, the VooDoo Envy133 and a few others also sport such a feature, which became quite popular over the period.

The price is not quoted yet but it should definitely be heavier on your pocket than the X110.
