New BenQ Joybook Lite U121 Eco is eco-friendly !
BenQ unveils its latest full-featured netbook – gets high on the “Green” factor.
The new Joybook Lite U121 offers you everything a netbook can offer, and more. It comes in the typical BenQ silver and black variants, with a sturdy-looking body. It will be powered by the Intel Atom Z520 or Z530, which is more powerful than the earlier with a clock speed of 1.6GHz over 1.33GHz of that of the Z520.
This 11.6-inch WXGA screen has a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which is said to be a perfect fit for High Definition (HD) content in 16:9 aspect ratios. The super-smooth 8ms response time and UltraVivid technology should give in for exceptional color depth and detail definition – or so the company claims. The U121 is reported to have a full-sized keyboard. The 32GB SDD storage with the 500GB HDD will provide ample space for those music and videos, although the HDD is optional.
This 1.3kg machine boasts of unlimited connectivity via high-speed WiFi, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN card, optional Bluetooth 2.1, and optional 3.75G HSUPA. Additional features include a 1.3MP webcam, built-in 2W speakers, VoIP, and 2-channel SRS TruSurround HD system. It supports 3G as well.
Now why BenQ calls it Eco is because it consumes less power than its competitors. Also the company claims that over the product’s life, 75% of the mechanical elements and 70% of packaging are also recyclable.
The 6-cell battery should give an impressive up to 8 hrs of battery life. It is going to be introduced in markets in China, Taiwan and Malaysia – but the pricing and exact date of release is not known.
