Apple is rumored to be team up with Verizon for upcoming tablet

It’ll fall between iPhone and the 13” Macbook.
The somewhat mythical, almost legendary Apple netbook-that-never-was is not coming in a hurry for sure. But there is another rumor sprouting up of Apple planning a high-end tablet. The device, being from Apple, should come with a big price tag. To reduce price-sensitive competition from a flurry of $400 netbooks, Verizon will pick up part of the buyer's cost. How that will work is not known exactly.
Unlike a Smartphone, the tablet will be a data-only device – so no voice calling. The Street reports that this 9” or 10” tablet could be available before the holiday season. It is also speculated that the machine might come with a keyboard – now whether it’ll be a chicklet netbook keyboard or a smart-phonies QWERTY keyboard remains to be seen.
It should be 3G enabled knowing Verizon’s interest in it. Eventually Apple’s strategy should be to push a sleek, expensive tablet into a niche market which is highly-priced to skim the market at first at least.
Although there have been quite a few speculations in the past few months regarding Apple’s future plans and its entry into the netbook market, still nothing can be said with accuracy. Steve Jobs said in the past as well that Apple has some interesting ideas if the netbook market continues growing. Supposedly, Apple already developed a netbook because an unknown internet search engine owner visited Apple and saw such a device. This device is somewhere between the iPhone and a MacBook.
Only future will show if this rumor comes true or not.
