RAmos teases us with an Android MID
Category: new notebook modelsBy: Raghav Kapoor
It will be launched on 25th September
RAmos Digital, a Chinese manufacturer of PMP's (portable media players), is all set to release an Android based MID (mobile internet device) that looks quite promising. This MID will be based on the ARM architecture rather than the x86 architecture. It is also tipped to support the following formats:
- MKV (H.264 \ VC-1 30Mbps \ 40Mbps)
- AVI (XviD / DivX 35Mbps)
- VOB MPG FLV (MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/H.264 30Mbps)
- RMVB (Real 8 \ 9 \ 10 30Mbps)
This MID is supposedly able to handle 1080p video content. Earlier, we had seen the Rockchip concept MID that used the Rockchip RK2808 chipset to deliver 720p videos but this new MID from RAmos will supposedly have a different graphic chipset that is capable of delivering 1080p HD video. Users will have to wait till 25th September to get more details on this device as the company is planning to announce a press release on that day.
