MSI adds another X-Slim to the line-up - the X410

The MSI X-Slim series is not completely new, earlier, we have seen quite a few notebook models under this brand umbrella like the X340, X400, and X610. Now, MSI has decided to add another variant to its existing line-up of X-Slim notebooks - the MSI X-Slim X410. This new 14-inch ultrathin model is powered by AMD's 2nd generation ultrathin platform that supports 1080p high resolution and provides outstanding display quality.  Moreover, this notebook has a battery life that is double the battery life of most 14-inch notebooks, thanks to AMD's PowerNow technology. Keeping in line with the tradition this new model is just an inch thick and weighs just 1.5Kgs (including battery).

The second generation AMD Athlon Neo processor consumes only 15W of power, that means it uses only 40% of the power used on other 14-inch notebooks. The AMD PowerNow technology is able to run different applications based on their specific power requirements by automatically adjusting CPU speed and voltage. Moreover, the X410 is equipped with MSI's ECO engine technology that lets users choose between five different performance modes - Gaming, cinema, presentation, document, and turbo battery.

MSI X410 has the following features:

  • AMD Athlon Neo processor
  • ATI Radeon X1250 GPU
  • 14-inch (1366x768) LCD display
  • Up to 2GB DDR2 RAM
  • 320/500GB Hard disk drive
  • Windows Vista operating system
  • 1.3MP Webcam
  • Ethernet, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, and Bluetooth (optional)
  • HDMI port
  • VGA output port
  • 2 USB 2.0 ports
  • SD card reader
  • External DVD writer/Blu-Ray (optional)
  • 4-cell/8-cell battery

MSI has not announced the pricing or release dates for this model. It is expected that this model will be up for grabs pretty soon.
