Sony shows off its fall/winter limited edition VAIO collection

Just like the models, Sony is also getting ready to show off the Sony VAIO fall/winter Signature collection. The new limited edition futuristic notebooks are bound to make you fall for them.
Named the VAIO VGN-FW590FFD and VAIO FW Nebula, these notebooks aren’t just gorgeous from outside, but also hold up enough punch to make gaming experience a breeze.
Specifically designed for gamers, the VAIO VGN-FW590FFD features a 16.4 inch screen. On the inside, it is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53GHZ processor with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics. Other specs include 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard disk drive (HDD).
The Nebula model with its galaxy concept also features a 16.4-inch display but Sony is allowing users to customize the specifications. The customization includes:
1. Processor:
- Basic model gets an Intel Core2 Duo Processor T6600 (2.20GHz)
- For an additional $50 you can upgrade to Intel Core2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13GHz)
- For an additional $100 you can upgrade to Intel Core2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz)
- For an additional $150 you can upgrade to IntelCore2 Duo Processor P8800 (2.66GHz)
- For an additional $300 you can upgrade to Intel Core2 Duo Processor T9600 (2.80GHz)
- For an additional $700 you can upgrade to Intel Core2 Duo Processor T9900 (3.06GHz)
2. Hard Disk Drive:
- Basic model gets a 250GB SATA Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm)
- For an additional $30 you can upgrade to 320GB SATA Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm)
- For an additional $60 you can upgrade to 500GB SATA Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm)
- For an additional $90 you can upgrade to 500GB SATA Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm)
- For an additional $260 you can upgrade to 128GB SATA Solid State Drive
- For an additional $660 you can upgrade to 256GB SATA Solid State Drive
3. Memory:
- Basic model gets a 2GB (2GBx1) DDR2-SDRAM-800
- For an additional $10 you can upgrade to 3GB (2GBx1 + 1GBx1) DDR2-SDRAM-800
- For an additional $20 you can upgrade to 4GB (2GBx2) DDR2-SDRAM-800
- For an additional $170 you can upgrade to 6GB (4GBx1 + 2GBx1) DDR2-SDRAM-800
- For an additional $370 you can upgrade to 8GB (4GBx2) DDR2-SDRAM-800
4. Graphics Card:
- Basic model gets an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics with 512MB dedicated video RAM
- For an additional $50 you can upgrade to ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics with 1GB dedicated video RAM
5. Operating System
- Basic model gets a Genuine Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
- For an additional $50 you can upgrade to Genuine Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
- For an additional $150 you can upgrade to Genuine Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Sony is bound to make a statement in this techno world with the launch of these new notebook models.
