It provided seamless internet connectivity
Kinpo, a Taiwanese ODM supplier, has just launched a new netbook named the N03 which will be powered by the VIA Nano processor. Kinpo has earlier been in news for its 7-inch Android thin client tablet. Now, it has developed the N03 netbook which has an 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display and is powered by either a 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz VIA Nano processor. Lately, we have seen some VIA Nano powered netbooks like the F88, Lenovo S12, and Samsung NC20. Moreover, VIA Nano processors have also got a push from Nvidia, as the later has made the ION platform compatible with VIA Nano processors.
Kinpo’s N03 netbook has a rugged exterior and a slim form factor; it is only 27mm thick and weighs less than 1.3Kgs. The N03 netbook has 2GB DDR2 RAM and VIA VX800 chipset. Users have the option to choose between a SSD (solid state drive) or HDD (hard disk drive) for storage. The most important feature of this netbook is the connectivity that it offers using the integrated TD-SCDMA 3G (the China-specific 3G standard), HSDPA/HSUPA, W-CDMA, WiMAX, and EVDO. It also has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g (Wi-Fi 802.11n optional) and Bluetooth v2.0 with EDR. Other features include:
· Three USB 2.0 ports
· 1.3MP webcam
· Ethernet
· Card reader (SD/SDHC/MMC)
· Windows XP / Windows Vista Home Basic operating system
The Kinpo N03 netbook has a 4000mA lithium polymer battery which the company claims is good for three hours of usage. Personally speaking three hours of usage is pretty less as now-a-days we have devices that offer up to 8 hours of computing on a single charge. This device although provides great connectivity options but that is offset by the smaller battery life. There is no information on pricing and availability yet.
