Asustek unveiled the Asus W90 multimedia notebook at the CES 2009 in Las Vegas. The W90 is a desktop replacement laptop with a 18.4- or 17-inch full-HD display which complements the AI Touch Media control panel and Blu-ray combo drive. Depending on the model, the W90 is equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 or HD 3850 X2 dual graphics, or a single NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GS GPU (for those with lower budget), and the Intel Core 2 Duo processor (T9600,T9400,P8600 or P8400). The system is based on the Intel X38 chipset and has three SO-DIMM slots for up to 6GB of DDR2 memory. In addition, this Asustek’s high performance notebook is equipped with the Turbo Gear function, which allows users to overclock the machine by “up to 25%”.

According to tests done by the Taiwanese maker, the W90, showcased at CES 2009, totally thrashed 3DMark06 by hitting a score of 15,000.

At this time, there is no news on when this laptop will hit the stores, or how badly these performance monsters will hit your wallet.
