Dell has recently launched the Inspiron 11z CULV (Consumer ultra low voltage) notebook which will fill the void that has been created between the Mini 10 and Inspiron 13 by the removal of the Dell Mini 12 laptop. Dell has classified this laptop as a “thin-and-light” model which measures just an inch thin and weighs 3 pounds. This model is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron 723 processor which according to Dell is about 40% faster than the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor. The Inspiron 11z has an 11.6-inch 1,366x768 resolution HD TLF WLED display and Intel’s GS45 integrated graphics chipset. Other features include:

·         2GB DDR2 800MHz

·         250GB SATA HDD (@5,400rpm)

·         2 x 1.0W speakers

·         Integrated single digital microphone bundled with camera (1.3MP)

·         3-cell 24WHr Li-Ion battery

·         Dell 1397 WLAN 802.11a/b/g – Half mini-card

·         Ethernet

·         HDMI connector

·         3 USB ports

·         3-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS)

·         Audio in/out ports

·         Kensington lock

·         Dimensions: 11.5-inch x 0.92-1.02-inch x 8.43-inch

The Dell Inspiron 11z comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium operating system instead of Windows XP. The base price of this model is just $399. This notebook is considered one of Dell's FastTrack systems and should ship almost immediately.
