VIA announces eNote Turnkey Solution netbook

VIA has just announced that it is soon going to unveil a new netbook called the eNote Turnkey Solution. This netbook will be unveiled at the Sequans booth during 4G World which will be held in Chicago from September 15th-18th. The eNote has an 11.6-inch thin and light design. It is equipped with state-of-the-art WiMAX chip from Sequans Communications, the leading supplier of chips for the WiMAX market. Sequans technology delivers high throughput with low power consumption using Sequans mimoMAX™ technology, which combines a maximum likelihood decoder on the downlink with two transmitters (2Tx) on the uplink – a unique feature that can significantly improve link budget and greatly enhance coverage and capacity.
Georges Karam, Sequans CEO, believes that the VIA eNote Turnkey Solution is one of the most advanced mobile notebooks in the world, that is feature rich and incorporates state-of-the-art technology in an ultra mobile form factor.
Richard Brown, Vice President of Marketing, VIA Technologies, Inc., said that the VIA eNote is a device that combines the best features from the netbook and notebook segments resulting in a highly connected mobile product that is unmatched in both functionality and value.
The VIA eNote Turnkey Solution netbook is powered by a 1.3GHZ VIA Nano processor and the VIA VX800 digital media IGP chipset. It has an 11.6-inch WXGA screen that is powered by the high performance VIA Chrome9 DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics. It also incorporates advanced video acceleration for MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9, VC1 and DiVX video formats, a VMR capable HD video processor, and 8-channel HD audio.
Users have an option to choose between two internal modules for broadband connectivity – first one includes WiFi, Bluetooth, and optional AGPS connections while the second one includes WiMAX, HSDPA, and EV-DO/W-CDMA options. Other features of this netbook include:

- Choice of HDD or SSD storage
- Three USB 2.0 ports
- VGA port
- Audio in/out jacks
- 4-in-1 card reader (SD/SDIO/MMC/MS)
- 2 MP dual-headed webcam
- Microsoft Windows Vista Basic, Microsoft Windows XP, and various Linux distributions support
- 4-cell 2600mAh Li-Ion battery (good for 3 hours)
- Dimensions: 240mm(W)x175mm (D) x36.2mm (H)
- Weight: 1.3Kgs
Pricing and release dates are still unknown so users will have to wait till we get further news, which is expected to come during the 4G World that is being held in Chicago from September 15th-18th.
