Colorful S101 New York netbook for the Chinese market
Category: new notebook modelsBy: Raghav Kapoor
Noticeable features include an accelerometer and free fall hard disk data protection
Some manufacturers in China seriously have an obsession for the United States of America, and in particular, New York and I can prove it.
Just recently a Chinese PC maker launched a laptop named Colorful S101 NewYork. It might seem to you that it a special edition Asus S101 with a dash of colors and is made in New York City… right?
Wrong!!! It is in fact a notebook made in China named after a city in US!! Seems awkward!!!
Specifications
On the specs front, it houses 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU under its hood. It has 160GB of storage space and supports up to 2GB of memory. On the display front, it has a 1024×600 10.1-inch display. Other specs include a 1.3 megapixels webcam, Wi-Fi, 3 USB port.
Notable Features
It features an accelerometer and software which rotates the display when the netbook is held in portrait mode. It also features an automatic shutdown mechanism when the netbook is detected to be in freefall so as to protect the data from being lost.
Pricing
It is priced at 2180 Yuan (about $320 USD). Although it has some really cool features to flaunt but I feel that it’s going to be a real tough task to see one of these outside the borders of China.
