June issue of Consumer report gives Apple top spot in all the notebook categories from 13-inch to 17-inch.
The June issue of Consumer report gives the Macbook top spots in 13-inch, 14-inch to 16-inch and the 17-inch notebook categories. The publication gave these ratings based on various criteria important from the consumer point of view.
In the 13-inch category, the top spot is secured by the ever popular Unibody Macbook, followed by the MacBook Air and the white, polycarbonate MacBook. The Apple notebooks, even though being more expensive than their competitors – faired just as well. For example the 15-inch Macbook Pro, winner of the 15-inch category, is priced at $2000 compared to the silver medalist Toshiba satellite which comes for only $700.
Even the big boys’ race is won by the 17-inch Macbook Pro, which incidentally won the distinction of being the highest ranker across the categories with 80 out of 100 points, faring “Excellent” or “Very good” in most of the testing.
Although the desktops did not live up to the same expectation, both the Mac mini and iMac took away the Runners up awards in their respective categories.
