This netbook is really cute
Bandai of Japan and Kohjinsha have yet again joined hands to launch a special limited edition RilakKuma netbook targeted at Japanese kids. The last time that users saw those two companies together was when they launched the special limited edition Gachapin and Mukku netbook which was also aimed at Japanese kids. The Gachapin netbook comes in a bright lime green color that is based off of the Kohjinsha ML series. The new RilakKuma netbook has the same configuration as the previous model with changes made only to the exterior; this netbook has a set of eyes and whiskers painted on the lid. Also the netbook has themes related to the Rilakkuma character.
Rilakkuma (a combination of the Japanese pronunciation of relax and the Japanese word for bear) is a Japanese character produced by the San-X company. All that is known about Rilakkuma's back story is that one day he appeared in the apartment of an office worker named Kaoru. Rilakkuma wears brown bear suits and greatly enjoys relaxing. Many toys, stickers, stuffed animals, clothes, electronics, and various accessories are marketed under the Rilakkuma name.
The specifications of this netbook are as follows:
· 8.9” 1,024 x 600 resolution display
· Intel Atom N270 processor
· 1GB RAM
· 160GB hard drive
· 1.3 megapixel webcam
· 1-Seg Digital TV tuner
The company will produce only 500 units of this netbook that will retail at a price of ¥79,800 ($862). This makes it almost $217 expensive than the Kohjinsha ML netbook.
