Further details on Nokia Booklet 3G

Nokia to focus on phones, smartphones, and mobile computers
A couple of weeks ago, we saw the first glimpse of Nokia’s latest offering in the mobile computer domain – the Nokia Booklet 3G. At that time Nokia did not divulge much of the details on this new device but, Nokia has now fully detailed its mini notebook PC at Nokia World 09 which is being held in Germany.
Starting from the exterior, the Booklet 3G has a stylish, premium design with the chassis made from a single piece of machined aluminium. This machine is just 19.9mm thin and it comes in three colors black, ice (white), and azure (blue). The company is boasting about the 12 hour battery life of this model which is made possible by a 16-cell, 56.8 Wh, Li-Ion prismatic, removable battery.
Since, this machine has been built by Nokia it offers features that make it easy for the user to sync this system with a Nokia handset. Integrated Ovi Suite enables easy sync of calendar contacts, media with user device. Other Integrated Nokia services include:
· Ovi Suite 2.0
· Nokia Music for PC
· Ovi Maps
· Social Hub – keeps track of your social software feeds in one spot and serves as a SMS sender
· Nokia software updater
This device is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor and it uses the Intel Poulsbo US15W chipset. The device has a fanless design and features 1GB DDR2 533MHz RAM and a 120GB 4200rpm hard disk. Other features include:
· Connectivity: WLAN 802.11b/g/n, 2T2R, WWAN (Inbuilt 3G modem), 3G/HSPA with hot swappable SIM Card, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, assisted GPS
· 10.1-inch 1280X720 glass window display
· Dimensions: 264 x 185 x 19.9 mm and Weight: 1.25Kg
· HDMI 1.2 out
· Three USB 2.0
· 1 x headphone out (OMTP 3.5 mm) – with OMTP headsets also functions as audio in
· SD card reader
· SIM / USIM slot
· 1.3 MP front facing camera with integrated microphone
· Accelerometer
· Software: MS Office Small Business 60 day trial, HDD protection utility, Hotkey utility , Knock Control utility, Power Profile Switcher, Battery Life utility, and F-Secure Internet Security 2010 trial
The exact release date of this model is still unknown and it is being said that this device will be subsidized through carriers else the $810 price tag will be a bit too much for such a device. We will have to wait and watch.
