The Sabertooth S3 line-up can boost the Eee PC performance
After the S and SS series, Active media releases a faster set of Sabertooth SSDs for the Eee PCs – the S3 series. These SSDs will support the Eee PC S101, 900, 900A, and 901. These have a read speed of up to 95MB/sec and write speeds of up to 70MB/sec. They come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB sizes, and fit into the already provided Eee PC’s Mini PCIe card slot. The 32GB and 64GB modules come for $89.95 and $159.95 respectively.
The earlier S model consists of the 16GB and 32GB Mini PCIe cards. They have been rated for sequential read speeds of up to 90 MB/sec and write speeds of up to 55 MB/sec with a price of $62.95 and $96.85 respectively. The SS range which consists of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB Mini PCIe cards that are much faster and capable of up to 155MB/sec read rates and up to 100MB/sec write rates. The price of these three models is $82.85, $124.95, and $219.95 respectively. So we can say the S3 has been placed in the middle of the product chain.
The company recently brought out a line of SSDs for the HP Mini 1000 also.
