Asus Eee PC 1008PGO hits FCC
It has got built-in 3G
It’s literally raining Asus branded notebooks these days. Asus is again in the news with another launch of its notebook named Asus Eee PC 1008P and 1008PGO with 3G connectivity. Asus tends to stick "GO" in the model numbers of Eee PCs that posess 3G mobile broadband cards.
About Asus Eee PC
The Asus Eee PC is a subnotebook/netbook computer by Asus and a part of the Asus Eee product family. At the time of its introduction in late 2007, it was noted for its combination of a light weight, Linux operating system, solid-state drive and relatively low cost.
According to Asus, the name Eee derives from "the three Es" an abbreviation of its advertising slogan for the device: "Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play".

Some specs (1008P) that were available are as follows:
- Intel Atom N450 processor (Pineview)
- 1GB RAM
- Seagate 160GB at 5400rpm hard disk
- AzureWave 802.11n WiFi card, Broadcom Bluetooth 2.1
- 1.3MP camera
- Screen size is unknown but it should be a 10" panel, hopefully with a screen resolution higher than 1024x600.
Of late, 3G notebooks by ASUS have not been able to make it to the States and have only been launched in Europe and Asia. But with FCC taking a look at the notebooks, it seems that the day is not far when ASUS 3G notebooks will be seen in the US.
