Acer is phasing out 8.9-inch line, not Asus

Maybe Acer thinks 8.9-inch netbook line is too small, not necessarily Asus thinks so.
According to a Chinese daily newspaper called “Economic daily News” – Asus finally decided to keep each 8.9-inch net book product line, deviating from the original plan of phasing out these tiny variants. Reportedly, the company will position the 7-inch category in the Telecom sector, the 8.9-inch category in the procurement market, and keep the widely popular 10-inch net book line for consumers.
This is unlike Acer, who will stick to its original plan of removing the 8.9-inch variant from the Aspire one net book category. Instead they are concentrating now on the 10.1-inch models and there are also rumours of a slightly bigger 11.6-inch Aspire one model on the way.
