An ARM-powered Windows CE cellphone plus a miniature PC that runs Windows XP
MIUtech has come out with a freshly updated and redesigned version of its HDPC (hybrid dual portable computer) that features an ARM-powered Windows CE cellphone plus a miniature PC that runs Windows XP. The initial designs for this device were not up to the mark and sorry to say looked a bit ugly. Now, MIUtech’s HDPC has got a pleasant makeover. The cellphone is driven by an ARM9 processor and has an external 2.4-inch 320 x 240 AMOLED display and numeric keypad. The miniature PC on the other hand is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz Z530 processor and has a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen with a full QWERTY keyboard. Other features include:
Windows XP operating system
· 32GB (or larger) SSD
· 1GB of RAM
· WiFi
· USB (both host and device)
· GPS
· MicroSD card slot
· T-DMB (unlikely to make it out of Asia)
· HDMI
· HD audio outputs
· Three cameras (5MP for photography, external and internal VGA cameras for video calls)
· Dimensions: 6.06 x 2.95 x 0.91 inches
· Weight: 10.3oz
There are rumors that this model will sell for $500 for a basic unit and $900 for the premium version. We will have to just wait and watch.
