After Acer’s 11.6-inch Aspire one, Asus is thinking on the same lines.

Asus is planning an Eee PC with an 11.6-inch screen by the end of this month. This move is to ensure increase in the average selling price of the models. Jerry Shen, Asus' CEO, expects 10-inch netbooks to remain the most popular version with at least 50 percent of orders for 2009 while 11.6-inch models are expected to grab 30 percent of the market – as reported by ITProportal.

This could be in response to Acer’s 11.6-inch machine under the same brand name Aspire One, the new 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366x768 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Along comes a redesigned full size keyboard with flat keys, although the overall design is very similar to a previously revealed model.

According to a video posted on youtube by the hardware site Register, the Aspire one 751 should be thinner than the current models, but will have a full-size laptop keyboard. It will retail at about $560 with an Intel Atom 5-series processor, 1GB of memory, 160GB hard drive and Windows XP.
