Netbooks are becoming a hot favorite among users these days because of their decent processing powers and the portability that they offer. Almost all the manufacturers like HP, Dell, Asus, and Acer are eyeing this segment in order to reap profits because of the growing demand of Netbooks. There is a new Netbook appearing every week so what the manufacturers are doing is that they tend to offer some additional features that would pull the user towards them.

This is exactly what ASUS has done with their new model the Eee PC 1002HAE which now supports an all new Aluminum body, which is similar to the body of the exotic Eee PC 1008HA Seashell. This Aluminum body offers a two-fold benefit that of improving the looks while reducing the weight. The new Eee PC 1002HAE weighs 1.2Kg whereas the earlier version i.e. Eee PC 1002HA weighed 1.4Kg. The size and the screen resolution is the same as earlier i.e. 10.1-inch with resolution of 1024x600.

This Netbook is powered by the Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor which offers slightly better performance (in terms of speed) than the 1.66GHz Atom N270 processor which powers the Eee PC 1002HA. Other specifications remain the same as follows:

·         1 GB RAM

·         160GB HDD

·         Three USB 2.0 ports

·         Mini VGA jack

·         3-in-1 Card reader (SDHC, Memory Stick Pro, MMC)

·         Ethernet jack, WiFi with draft N support, Bluetooth v2.1 – EDR

·         1.3MP webcam

The ASUS Eee PC 1002HAE will be available from mid-May onwards in three colors metallic gray, dark blue and red. It is expected to retail for around $ 500 which turns out to be £335 whereas the Eee PC 1002HA retails for £300. It’s upto the user to decide if he is willing to spend a bit more for that aluminum body.
