Disney, a name that is synonymous with fun and frolic, is all set to team up with Asus to launch a netbook called Netpal. This new netbook will be targeted towards kids in the age group of 6-12 years. The Disney branding backed by Asus will help this device to gain popularity amongst parents and kids alike.

Netpal has a 8.9-inch screen and is powered with the usual Intel Atom processor. It will be available in two colors Princess Pink or Magic Blue so as to attract both boys and girls. In order to make this netbook kid friendly a host of features have been added, like:

·         A kid friendly interface on top of Windows XP.

·         Themes that revolve around Mickey Mouse, Cars, Toy Story, Wall-E, and other famous Disney franchises.

·         Parental controls to control kids from accessing content that is not suitable for them.

·         Kids can only correspond via email to those people which are approved by the parent.

There is an option to choose between a 16GB SSD or 160GB HDD. Although the 16GB SSD would be a better option as kids may not put the unit into standby before moving it around. Netpal will be available at Toys R Us and Amazon.com and will be priced at $350.
