It uses an AMD Athlon processor
A Russian website named 3dnews has somehow managed to get its hands on the MSI X-Slim X600 notebook. Earlier, we have seen the X-Slim X600 model which is powered by an Intel Core2 Solo 3500 ULV processor. The X610 on the other hand is powered by a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon MV-40 CPU. All the other specifications remain the same i.e.:
· 15.6-inch 1,366x768 resolution display
· AMD M690, AMD Hammer chipset
· ATI Radeon HD4330 512MB GPU
· 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM
· 250GB HDD
· 3 USB ports (including 1 USB/eSATA combo)
· HDMI
· Wi-Fi link 5100 a/b/g, Ethernet
· 1.3MP webcam
In most benchmarks the AMD Athlon MV-40 CPU under performs the Intel Core2 Solo SU3500 CPU. The reviewers have reported that the battery life of the X610 is 20% lower than the X600, under full load. The pricing of the X610 is not out yet but, one thing is for sure, the success of the X610 will depend a lot on the pricing. Users would prefer to buy this machine only if its price is kept lower than the €699 price tag of the Intel based version.
