These processors will be launched by late September
According to recent news posted by Digitimes, Intel is getting ready to launch its new series of ultrathin and regular notebook processors. The first amongst them is a set of processors that will be used in regular notebooks and will be marketed under the Core i7 brand. These Clarksfield based processors will be available in the following three types:
· 2GHz Core 2 Extreme XE
· 1.73GHz Core 2 Quad P2
· 1.6GHz Core 2 Quad P1
If industry sources are to be believed then one can expect these processors to make their debut in late September or October. The Clarksfield line of CPUs will be marketed as an upscale processor which would suit the likes of MacBook Pro or Dell XPS laptops. At the lower end, Intel is planning to release a pair of Celeron SU2300 and Celeron 743 CPUs for ultra-thin laptops, the announcement for which is rumored to be made in September. Intel has declined the opportunity to respond to this report saying it cannot comment on unannounced products.
