It starts with DTS claiming that Asus will adopt their technology soon
DTS recently announced that its audio solutions will be adopted by Asus could soon adopt audio solutions from DTS its motherboards – as DTS claims recently. Company president and CEO Jon Kirchner has told Digitimes that DTS-equipped notebooks and netbooks could appear as early as 2010. Kirchner told that DTS has products that can be used in a wide range of PC products, Blu-ray devices and mobile devices.
DTS currently has tie-ups with several Taiwan-based PC vendors including Asus, Acer, Foxconn Electronics and Shuttle, as well as some chipmakers such as Intel, Realtek and VIA Technologies. So it won’t be much difficulty to penetrate this segment.
With this new initiative, Kirchner believes the company’s market share could rise to 15-20% in 2011 since the market is largely dominated by a few players only.
