Belinea launches the X15 gaming behemoth
By: Raghav KapoorIt is powered by two Nvidia Geforce 280M GTX cards with 1024MB of memory each
Belinea was a brand of computer monitors which was manufactured by Maxdata and was primarily sold in Europe. Belinea also manufactured computer units and notebook computers. Maxdata and Belinea are now bankrupt and Belinea has been purchased (last November) by Brunen-IT Wittmund.
Belinea has just lauched a 18.4-inch gaming behemoth called the X15. We have seen a couple of gaming notebooks lately like the iBuypower Battalion, Sager NP9280, Alienware M17x, etc. The Belinea X15, like the other gaming notebooks, packs lot of power and punch under the hood. It is powered by a 2.53GHz quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX9300 processor.
It has an 18.4-inch WUXGA glare TFT display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. It supports up to 8GB DDR2 RAM and three 500GB hard disk drives (total 1500GB of storage space). Graphics are provided by two dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPUs which offer 1GB of DDR3 virtual memory each and support DirectX 10.1 and HDCP. This behemoth will run almost all of the modern games quite effortlessly.
Other features on this gaming monster include:
· Four USB 2.0 ports
· eSATA port
· FireWire port
· HDMI port
· 7-in-1 Card Reader (MS/MS Pro/MS Duo/MS Pro Duo/SD/Mini-SD/MMC)
· PCMCIA and ExpressCard slot
· Ethernet, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth
· Blu-ray and DVD+/-RWDL
· 2MP webcam
· Fingerprint reader
The Belinea X15 gaming notebook is quite big and heavy with a weight of 5.6Kgs. It does not come preloaded with an operating system and some users might consider this as its downside but, it comes with a 2-year warranty. The high end model will be available at a price of €4449 (Quad-core processor, 8GB RAM, three 500GB HDDs). A stripped down version of this gaming notebook called the Belinea X10 is also available at a cost of €2199 (almost half the price of the high end model. The Belinea X10 is powered by a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo P8700 processor and has only 400GB of storage space.
