The ThinkPad X Series notebooks from Lenovo put the ultra in ultraportable. Designed for extreme mobility, these lightweights deliver in a big way in terms of reliability, performance, and durability.

Lenovo ThinkPad X100e

Being dubbed the ‘Entry level ultraportable, the first ThinkPad of its size’ Lenovo Thinkpad X100e, rumored to be Lenovo ThinkPad X200e (about which we mentioned a few days ago), is a sheer delight to operate and passes all the pointers I just mentioned above.

The specs for the machine are still sketchy at this point, but Thinkpadtoday.com took a guess at what the upcoming system would be packing under the hood.

According to them, the system will be powered by a

  • 1.6GHz Athlon Neo processor
  • ATI Radeon HD 3410 graphics chip
  • 12.1-inch WXGA TFT 1,280 x 800 display

Another choice could be

  • Intel's Centrino 2 ULV processor
  • 1.4GHz core speed
  • Intel GMA 4500MHD chip

Additional features

  • 3GB of DDR2 SDRAM
  • Upto 320GB of storage space, with a choice for SSD upgrade
  • Six-cell or nine-cell Lithium-Ion battery packs

Being a business laptop, it would ensure an impressive battery performance, with several connectivity options. Right now the specs of the X100e are still unconfirmed.

With various leaked shots hitting the internet which shows it to have a white casing, ThinkPadToday reckons that the X100e will go with a matte-black shell finish. Until the time the ThinkPad X100e ultraportable makes an official appearance which is believed to be somewhere around the 5th January 2010, we can just wait and watch.
