The so-called Firefly to be powered by Tegra
Fresh rumors of an NVIDIA Tegra-powered smartbook are doing round and expected to launch later this year. Although these rumors were denied by the company, denying any plans to sell its own brand of smartbooks. This device, code-named Firefly, could be launched as early as in September.
According to various sources, this Tegra platform is different to ION in that it pairs an ARM-based processor with an Nvidia GeForce GPU, whereas the ION pairs an Intel Atom CPU with the Nvidia 9400M graphics.
