Severe criticism for MacBook Air
Category: other notebook newsBy: Matthias Bauer
The MacBook Air got just released and some bloggers and medias set out severe criticisms.
Steve Jobs presented the MacBook Air at the MacWorld. After short time, the laptop has to accept criticism. There are discussions and negative feedbacks in some forums, and even some medias. Primary they are about hard coded components, and missing components. For example, it is not possible to remove the battery from the notebook. Furthermore, many bloggers think that the battery runtime of 5 hours is too little. The laptop cannot be connected to a monitor or beamer without using an adapter.
Some of the most important components are missing, e.g. there is no LAN port and the optical drive is absent too. It is impossible to use a DVD or CD in transit, except you own the external optical drive. If you connect this drive to the MacBook Air, then its only USB port occupied. Furthermore, one USB port is too little, because every external device uses this port (even a LAN adapter does it).
Time will tell if Apple will change some technical specifications of the next MacBook Air.
