Dell launches Vostro 10 notebook line-up

The line-up consists of two 14.1-inch models (1014 and 1088) and one 15.6-inch model (1015)

Dell Vostro 10 series notebooks launched

Since the past few days, there has been quite a lot of speculation regarding the arrival of the Dell Vostro 10 series notebooks. Yesterday, some reports indicated that Dell had actually put up some pictures of the latest Vostro 10 series notebooks on Flickr. Now, Dell has made it official, by announcing the latest line-up of Dell Vostro 10 series notebooks. The line-up consists of three new affordable business notebooks – 14.1-inch Vostro 1014, 14.1-inch Vostro 1088, and 15.6-inch Vostro 1015.

All these notebook models have energy-efficient WLED screens with Anti-glare or TrueLife technology and a resolution of 1,366 x 768. They are powered by Intel Core2 Duo M or Celeron M processors and can support up to 4GB of 800MHz DDR2 RAM and up to 320GB hard disk drive (@5,400rpm). Other features include:

·         Intel 45 chipset with Intel GMA X4500MHD

·         8X DVD+/-RW

·         1 speaker

·         Integrated 2MP webcam with digital microphone

·         Audio in/out ports

·         Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, optional Bluetooth

·         Four USB ports

·         VGA out port

·         5-in-1 card reader

·         34mm ExpressCard slot

·         Option of a 4-cell or a 6-cell Li-ion battery

·         Three color options – Black, Red, and Blue

The dimensions and weight of the three models is as follows:

·         Vostro 1014 – Dimensions: 13.4-inch (W) x 0.98-1.4-inch (H) x 9.6-inch (D), Weight: 2.1Kgs with 4-cell battery and optical drive.

·         Vostro 1088 – Dimensions: 13.4-inch (W) x 0.98-1.4-inch (H) x 9.6-inch (D), Weight: 2.07Kgs with 6-cell battery and no optical drive.

·         Vostro 1015 – Dimensions: 14.8-inch (W) x 1-1.5-inch (H) x 9.8-inch (D), Weight: 2.16Kgs with 4-cell battery and no optical drive.

The Vostro 1088 can also be fitted with a 512MB ATI Radeon 4530 GPU. These models are available in certain parts of Europe and will land in Asia Pacific and Japan today but, won’t go for sale in North America for another few months – as per Slashgear. Although the new Vostro models have appeared on Dell’s official website but, there is no word on ordering and pricing yet. According to a report by Slashgear, the Vostro 1015 is on sale for £235 ($386) pre-tax through Dell’s UK store.
