It comes with a hefty price tag
MSI X-Slim X600 is a notebook based on the CULV (consumer ultra low voltage) platform. The slim form factor of this model puts it in-line with the likes of Apple MacBook Air. Earlier, the MSI X-Slim X600 notebook had two models – one powered by a 1.4GHz Intel Core2 Solo SU3500 processor and the other model powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron ULV 723 processor. Now, MSI has given the X600 a dual-core makeover which also means this system will now have more muscle power. The new SKU will be powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Core2 Duo SU9600 processor. The other specifications of this model remain unchanged:
· 15.6-inch WXGA (1,366x768 resolution) glossy display
· Up to 4GB RAM
· Up to 500GB HDD
· ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 GPU with 512MB of virtual memory
· Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/n
· SD/MMC memory card reader
· Webcam
· Windows Vista Home Premium operating system
Although the other specifications of this new SKU remain unchanged but the price tag has definitely sky rocketed. This new model will be available at a price of €1099 which means it will cost almost €400 more than the model based on the Core2 Solo SU3500 processor. Users are free to decide whether they want to spend that huge amount in order to get some more power under the hood. This new model should start appearing in retail in early September.
