Intel Mobile Core 2 price drop in Q2
Category: rumors, notebook componentsBy: Klaus Hinum
According to Fudzilla Intel plans to drop the prices of two mobile Core 2 Duo CPUs in the second quarter of 2009.
The Core 2 Duo T9600 should drop from $517 to $309 and the Core 2 Duo P8700 (altough Fudzilla writes about a Core 2 Quad T8700) should get about $39 cheaper ($236 to $197).
The price drops wont be really affecting usual notebook prices. Perhaps some configurable systems will get cheaper. The next big price drops should arrive after the mobile Nehalem launch (codename Auburndale) later this year (Q4?).
More information on mobile CPUs can be found in our mobile benchmark list.
