The NC10

Rash.m2k of the Sammynetbook forum put together some LED and wires, and prepared a small mod for the keyboard light for your Samsung NC10. The NC10 keyboard does not let much light pass through it, so he had to install a strip of SMD LEDs across the keyboard, makes it easily removable if need be. Although it is not the final Mod, but looks quite decent – as the picture speaks, here.

The things he has used are thin wires of about half a mm in diameter, Strip of SMD LED's, insulation tape, soldering material, knife and of course a wire cutter.

The NC10 was introduced last year. It offers a 10” display and is equipped with a 6-cell battery. The Asus Eee PC 1000H can also be equipped with such powerful battery, but the customer has to buy it separately. The display shows content with a resolution of 1.024 x 600 pixels. The keyboard of the NC10 uses nearly the full width of the case and provides an antibacterial cover and therefore it is very hygienic – probably the reason why Rash couldnot get the lights to pass through the keyboard easily. The Intel Atom N270 processor with 1.6 GHz is included and the Intel 945GSE chipset as well. 1 GB RAM and a common 160 GB hard drive are built in too. Furthermore, the netbook provides a WLAN 802.11 b/g module, a Bluetooth 2.0 adapter, a LAN port, three USB connectors, a SD card reader and a VGA port.

All these standard netbook features make it a really good buy, especially as it’s moderately priced as well.
