Making a touchscreen out of the Dell Mini 9

The Dell Min 9 has been cut down to remove the keyboard.
Don’t have a touchscreen? No problem. Don’t want to pay those extra bucks in getting? You can take a tip from Rob928 of mydellmini forum. He wrote an article there about how he has converted his Dell Mini 9 to a tablet. The keyboards are gone, and the hinges are covered. So now you only have the screen part. The touchscreen is the Hoda Technology solderless touchscreen kit.
He apparently started this project in June and finished just recently. It looks pretty neat, especially covering the hinges. You can also set it up on a PC base, and connect a keyboard by USB. The ports are placed on the right side, along with the power output. The other side has another USB port, and various other I/O ports along with the vent. The only difficulty it might face is covering the screen.
The Dell Mini 9 (or Vostro A90) comes with an 8.9-inch Wide Screen WSVGA display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 512MB DDR2 RAM (533MHz), and an 8GB SSD. Upgrades to 1GB RAM and a 16GB SSD is available with the Productivity package. The processor is the same N270, the 1.6GHz Atom found in the Mini 9, along with the 945GE chipset.
Dell Mini 9 has been discontinued by the company, but after all it has found a pretty good use elsewhere.
