Another slate-type netbook in the market
Sinchun comes up with this 8.9” netbook without a keyboard
Last time we saw Sinchun, they were with this beautiful little 5” UMPC called the UMPC-501A with built-in GPS and 3G, a 1.1GHz Atom Z510, 1GB RAM and 32GB SSD. Another touchscreen device comes from them this, this time much bigger, big enough to be called a netbook – a slate form factor netbook.
This is brand new 8.9” touchscreen netbook called the UMPC-891A comes with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It supports finger and stylus input. Powered by the usual Atom N270 processor, the 891A comes with the GMA950 graphics card, 1.3MP Webcam, 1GB RAM, 8GB or 16GB or 32GB SSD, WiFi, optional 3G and Windows XP Home pre-loaded. This 1kg machine has a dimension of 250 x 168 x 21.3mm.
The battery life is poor though with the tiny 1700mAh battery that should provide only up to about 2 hours of battery life.
