The performance of the new DirectX 10 graphic processors 8400M (G, GS, GT) and 8600M (GS, GT) reach from just fit for games (8400M G) up to good game performance (8600M GT).
Special features of these new graphic adapters are DirectX 10 support and the new unified pipeline with stream processors, which replace the separated vertex and pixel pipelines.
Regarding performance this video cards should score slightly better than its DirectX 9 counterparts.
Beware of the 8400M G! Only a single letter distinguishes it from the GT, however, it provides only a 64 bit memory bus and only half of the stream processors.
