Another tablet is out to tease the senses of the masses from the techno city of China commonly known as Shenzhen. Based on the x86 architecture, the Adesun AD-708 tablet will feature Windows XP as the operating system but it is also compatible with Windows Vista and Linux operating systems.

Adesun is offering two different models with their AD-708: Basic and Deluxe models

Basic model features are as follows

  • Processor: C7M 1.2GHz processor
  • Memory: 512MB RAM
  • Graphics Card: VIA VX700
  • Storage Space: 8GB Solid state drive
  • Operating System: Windows XP

  • Communication: Built-in LAN, Wireless b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 module
  • Battery: 3200mAh battery

Price for the basic model is 1,999 yuan (just under $295 U.S.).

Deluxe model features are as follows:

  • Processor: C7M 1.2GHz processor
  • Memory: 1GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: VIA VX700
  • Storage Space: 16GB Solid state drive
  • Operating System: Windows XP
  • Display: 7-inch 800 × 480 WVGA touchscreen display

In addition you get a 2GB SD card, TV receiver, GPS, and tablet car kit. Price for the deluxe model is 2,999 yuan (roughly $440 U.S.). Common to both the versions is a special feature called the built-in gravity sensor. This sensor automatically switches between portrait and landscape modes as and when the user tilts the device. I don’t think that this device will make its way out of China but still we get to see a tablet with a VIA graphics card ad a C7M processor.
