Acer has just lauched a new netbook based on AMD's newly announced Congo platform. The new netbook is a part of Acer's Ferrari lineup. This is not the first time we have seen a computer manufacturer team up with a brand name like Ferrari. We have also seen Asus team up with lamborghini and not to forget Toshiba joining hands with Ducati. So, I think this thing has become common now but what is uncommon is a netbook like the new Acer Ferrari One which is supposedly a netbook which has some speed.

The Acer Ferrari One netbook is powered by the latest dual-core 1.2GHz Athlon X2 L310 CPU which is based on AMD's Congo platform. Other features include:

  • 11.6-inch 1,366x768 display
  • ATI Radeon 3200 GPU
  • 160GB hard disk
  • Up to 4GB RAM
  • XGP port (for connecting an external graphics card)
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • Optional WWAN
  • 6-cell 5600mAh battery
  • Windows 7 operating system

This netbook also supports the latest AMD branding sticker i.e. AMD Vision. On the exterior, this netbook will support a carbon fiber chassis and the flaming red color which is characteristic of Ferrari. The Ferrari One netbook will ship on 22nd of this month at a price of £435 ($724).
